Thank you to Jane from @wanderring.pages._ & @bargainbookssa for my giveaway prize.❤️
I’ve been putting off writing this review for a few weeks, because I still don't know how I feel about the book😅
While I was reading it, I LOVED how fast paced it was & how short the chapters were - it actually got me out of a reading slump which is amazing!! The chapters are about 3 pages each, so you fly through them fast. There was also constant action in this book.
However, after I finished it, all I felt was: "what did I just read?" Plus, the ending was such a cliffhanger.

This book follows sisters Korede & Ayoola. Korede is the older sister who works as a nurse, while Ayoola is the beautiful younger sister. Korede gets a call from Ayoola & she already knows that she needs to yet again assist Ayoola in disposing of a body & cleaning a murder scene. You see, this is not the first man killed by Ayoola in what she says is self defence.
Korede keeps helping Ayoola out of these situations because she feels like family is more important than anything & the two of them have been through a lot together in their childhood. As we continue reading, we learn the deep-rooted causes of Ayoola's behaviour & the reasons why Korede protects her. I think this book teaches you how traumatic events in your childhood can effect you as an adult if you don't get the necessary help.
Ayoola ends up dating Tade, a doctor Korede is in love with & this changes everything. Korede is stuck between wanting to protect her sister & protect her crush.
With regards to the characters, Tade was frustrating. He seemed very shallow & he annoyed me. I also felt frustrated about the fact that Korede kept helping Ayoola out of these situations because it was going to become a never ending cycle. Their mother also frustrated me as she seemed to care more about Ayoola than Korede & she seemed oblivious to a lot of things.
If you are experiencing a reading slump & need something short & fast-paced to help you get through it & get back into the habit of reading, I highly recommend this book for that.
